Background

PURELIFE, having established itself in the pharmaceutical sector successfully for over 2 years, identified an opportunity to elevate its services by leveraging technology. The decision to develop a web application stemmed from the recognition of the challenges within the pharmaceutical industry in Africa, particularly issues related to fragmentation, supply chain inefficiencies, and limited access to crucial healthcare services. This results in retail customers encountering difficulties in accessing essential healthcare services. Moreover, the cost of basic generic medicines can be up to 30 times higher in Africa, exacerbating the health access problem. In Nigeria, where a substantial portion of the population suffers from chronic diseases, many retail customers lack access to vital orphan drugs.

The journey began with a thorough analysis of the existing challenges in the pharmaceutical sector, aligning the project's goals with PURELIFE's mission of providing accessible and cost-effective healthcare services to retail customers.

My Role

In my role as the Associate Product Manager for the Purelife Pharmacy web app, I worked with the Senior Product Manager, stakeholders, developers, and designers ensuring the timely achievement of milestones and the overall efficiency and scalability of the product. This involved constant team communication and through QA testing to address challenges promptly and maintain a smooth project trajectory.

Product Evolution

• I collaborated with the development teams to create a staging environment that mirrored the production environment, integration of the company’s ODOO MODULE, and ensuring each developed pages are tested to ensure optimal functionality and a seamless user experience.
• In my role, I facilitated communication between developers, designers, QA teams, and stakeholders. This involved conducting regular SCRUM meetings, providing updates, and addressing any bottlenecks. This ensured that every team member was aligned with project goals and timelines.
